Trainer

Lead Trainer Bethany Matheson

Bethany graduated from Vanderbilt University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, and is currently practicing in TN as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher. She specializes in complex trauma work with children and adults using somatic-based therapy and EMDR. Her EMDR journey began when she was in grad school, so she’s never been a therapist without it! She loves helping other therapists move through their own anxiety about using EMDR with clients, and she is a great fit for those looking for a somatic focus with all ages.

Co-Trainer Patricia Hanley

Patricia T. Hanley, MA, LCMHC-S, NCC was trained in EMDR in 2014, became EMDRIA Certified in June 2015, and became an Approved Consultant in May 2018. She has coached multiple EMDR trainings and has Certified many clinicians in EMDR. Patricia is not only an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, she has also been an EMDR client, which profoundly changed her life professionally and personally. She has been licensed for 13 years and specializes in treating adults and teens with depression, grief, anxiety, panic, post-traumatic stress, relationship issues, family of origin issues, deployment issues, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, anger, low self-esteem, adjustment issues, and multicultural issues, and serves LGBTQIA*, military and civilian populations.

This event will be conducted as a LIVE online webinar for Parts 1 & 2. Thrive uses Zoom as its primary video conferencing platform. You will need a high-speed internet connection and a laptop equipped with a webcam, speakers, and microphone. Many headphones or earbuds incorporate microphones.
