Your EMDR Approved Consultant will be Chris Floro and/or Tony Powell. You must complete at least 5 hours with Chris or Tony to receive a memo to EMDRIA documenting your consultation hours with them.

Consultation are typically offered on Thursdays and Fridays, but at various times. You may want to talk with Chris and/or Tony before signing your agreement to ensure that your schedules will match up. Often you will be put with one other person seeking certification to broaden the experience. Certification is more intense than basic training consultation, so be prepared for more in-depth looks at your work in each phase by submitting audio or video recordings.

You will be provided with access to Chris and Tony's SignUp Genius calendar so that you can sign up for available hours for certification consultation. Please be sure to create your own (free) account so you can make changes to the appointments you schedule if needed and avoid the No Show fee of $50. We are pleased to report that to date no therapist seeking certification consultation has no-showed! At the very least, please text Chris and/or Tony when things come up.

You will be expected to come prepared with case summaries and audio or video recordings for the clients you present, along with points of discussion and questions you have about your work. Bring your most difficult cases, not the ones that make you look good! In your course, we will provide examples of case summaries to use as guides.

It is helpful but not mandatory that you provide your case summaries and audio/video recordings at least 48 hours in advance. This allows your consultant to be prepared for your cases. Please work hard to be prepared so you get the most out of your consultation. If you aren't confident of your recording skills, please send your Consultant a test audio file before your first consultation to work out any bugs. The best audio file formats are .mp3 or .m4a.

Consultation will be done via Zoom, a HIPAA compliant teleconferencing platform.

All your forms can be found in the lessons of this course after you complete registration and payment. These will include your current professional license validation, a signed certification contract agreement, your document of completion for your EMDRIA-approved EMDR basic training course, and a signed certification criteria acknowledgement form.

Your first meeting with your Consultant will not be a consultation, but rather a review of all your documents and goals pertaining to becoming an EMDR Certified Therapist. This is to make you and we are in agreement with expectations and desired outcomes.
