Lead Trainer

Patricia Hanley

Patricia T. Hanley, MA, LCMHC-S, NCC was trained in EMDR in 2014, became EMDRIA Certified in June 2015, and became an Approved Consultant in May 2018. She has coached multiple EMDR trainings and has Certified many clinicians in EMDR. Patricia is not only an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, she has also been an EMDR client, which profoundly changed her life professionally and personally. She has been licensed for 10 years and specializes in treating adults and teens with depression, grief, anxiety, panic, post-traumatic stress, relationship issues, family of origin issues, deployment issues, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, anger, low self-esteem, adjustment issues, and multicultural issues, and serves LGBTQIA*, military and civilian populations.


Suzanne Mikkelson

Suzanne E. Mikkelson, Ph.D., LMFT, has been an EMDRIA Approved Consultant since 2011. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Suzanne married her college sweetheart, David, a retired US Army Chaplain, LMFT, and AAMFT Approved Supervisor. They are in private practice together at Hill City Counseling and Consulting, LLC in Forest, VA where they train and supervise a clinical team of licensed residents and graduate student interns. Suzanne’s work includes marriage and family therapy, individual counseling, clinical supervision, and EMDR consultation and certification. She also teaches graduate level counseling courses as an Adjunct Professor on university faculty. Suzanne is an international speaker and presenter on trauma, military issues, and empathy. She and David have 3 adult sons and 4 fabulous grandsons. She loves to travel, hike, read, ride the Blue Ridge Parkway, and spend time with family and friends. She is honored to be part of Thrive’s EMDR instructional team.

This event will be conducted as a LIVE online webinar. Thrive uses Zoom as its primary video conferencing platform. You will need a high-speed internet connection and a laptop equipped with a webcam, speakers, and microphone. Many headphones or earbuds incorporate microphones.
